Teaching and Learning

Useful Information

The following suggestions will help teachers to make the best use of the website and deliver the programme.

Before the pupils use the catalogue of exercises teachers should give them an introduction on how to work with the programme.

For secondary school pupils we recommend that the exercises are printed out, laminated and handed to the students for their work. Allowing students to use a PC, smart-phone, tablet etc. during the initial contact with the programme may distract them and reduce exercise time.

After pupils have become familiar with the programme and are capable of working independently they will be able to exercise using online access.

Teachers should keep an eye on the pupils to encourage the feeling that they are not left alone or forgotten, as well as ensuring that exercises are performed correctly and with sufficient effort.

Practising in small groups carries the risk that pupils are distracted. If the students do not concentrate enough it may be advisable for them to work independently and avoid the distraction of being in a group.

A short written agreement with the teacher can encourage pupils’ level of commitment. It could be phrased like this: “When I am injured I will use the recommended exercises in the catalogue during regular PE lessons.”
